Welcome everybody to the only official swiss Summer-U Blog, with
live-coverage from the 24th Summer-U of the European Union of Jewish
Students.
Now, alltough I know that a Blog is always a very individual thing
and I don’t have a degree in journalism, I nevertheless hope
to offer you a little bit of an Insight to this years Summer-U.
Let me present myself, my name is Aron Waltuch and I’m the
Co-President of the Swiss Union of Jewish Students. That should
be enough fort he moment.
1st day, arrival, always a little bit of an adventure, which started
form e at 7 o’clock in the morning to pack my suitcase and
which ended somewhere around 2 o’clock am of the next day
in my hotel-room in „la residencia Primula“, a hotel-ressort
outside of Rome.
Our plain arrived from Basel, my home city, at about 1.30pm. The
funny suprise, ist that we had to wait for 5 hours (!) in the airport
untill the bus finally took us on the 2 hours trip to the hotel.
Needless to say that we were really tired once arrived. But no time
to rest, we just arrived in time for dinner which consisted of....
big surprise.... Pasta ;-)
As it was the day of my birthday, I was welcomed with a room of
people singing happy birthday for me.... belive me people, just
for that, it’s worth to have your birthday in Summer-U time!
Then, my spanish friends, which I share my room with threw a little
mix of a birthday party for me and a pre-party, which should happen
to take place every single day of Summer-U. The invitation is always
the same, just tell the people „38“, which is our room
number, the rest follows.
